Mohican hits Heights on debut at Foxrock Fozzy Stack's Mohican Heights made all from stall one and showed a good attitude to score on debut in the seven-furlong juvenile-maiden at Leopardstown. The son of Australia was there to shot at in the final quarter of a mile but kept boxing on for Chris Hayes. Lil Grey emerged as the main danger on the rail a furlong out but she couldn't quite get on terms with Mohican Heights. The winner found and found again for Hayes as he passed the post a length and a quarter to the good at 14/1. He was a drifter from 15/2 in the morning. Lil Grey, the only filly in the field, took plenty of credit in second at 25/1. She was two and a half lengths clear of Masteroffoxhounds (8/1). Chris Hayes said: “He’s a nice colt. We had a good draw and Fozzy was adamant that we had to be forward. He’s showed us plenty at home but he was very green and raw. “I was hoping something would come and join me as he was just running around the place but he was never in trouble as was always going to do enough. “He could be a nice horse for the future. He’s a work in progress and I’d say he’ll improve as the year goes on. “It’s beautiful ground, probably on the easy side of good.” Aterwards, Stack said that Mohican Heights would go for the Chesham at Royal Ascot.
