Missunited third in Group 1 Prix Royal-Oak Crack-mare Missunited ran a stormer when staying on for third in Longchamp today in the valuable Group 1 Prix Royal-Oak behind runaway winner Tac De Boistron. Marco Botti's Tac De Boistron, the 4/1 joint favourite, had Donegal jockey Martin Harley on board as they scorched to victory. Runner-up in the Prix du Cadran on his previous start, the six-year-old grey appreciated the drop in trip to just under two miles and destroyed the opposition in the French St Leger. Tres Rock Danon made the running until well into the home straight where Harley unleashed Tac De Boistron to sweep into the lead on the outside and pull clear to win by five lengths. Going Somewhere was second while Irish challenger Missunited at 14/1 under Seamie Heffernan put in excellent work at the finish to get third for Mick Winters, just three-quarters of a length away. The other British raider The Lark never figured under Jamie Spencer for trainer Michael Bell. "He won well. This is his ideal trip - the Cadran was just a little bit too far for him," said Botti. "I was pleased he showed a nice turn of foot on this ground, as it's very testing. "Before the race I thought this was more competitive than the Cadran, with a couple of three-year-olds as well with good form. "He travelled well in the race and Martin said he settled well after getting him cover. "In the straight he went for a gap that closed in front of him. Then when he switched him out the response was good and he quickened away really well. "I think he's finished for the year. There's nothing left for him and we'll probably put him away. I'll speak to the owners and hopefully they will keep him for next year. "There are plenty of good races over two miles for him and he's a horse that has probably improved with age. He is very sound, straightforward and is holding his form."
