Missunited confirmed she is a mare with a bright future when making every yard to secure a comfortable victory in the two and a quarter mile novice hurdle at Galway.
Bryan Cooper had burned off all the opposition except for Zuzka as Missunited hit the home turn. Paul Townend, though, was hard at work on Zuzka and despite closing at the last had no answer when Missunited quickened away again.
She was well supported this morning from 11/8 to 4/6 and was returned at 8/13 when winning by three and three parts of a length. Zuzka was the Burlington Bertie 100/30 second favourite.
“I’m delighted with that and she’ll go for the Cesarewitch now at the Curragh,” successful trainer Michael Winters said.
“She was mad well in herself and when horses are healthy you may as well run them. That’s her third win in two weeks. Bryan schooled her last year and it’s nice to give him a winner.”
She won a mile and two flat handicap at Clonmel last Thursday and prior to that was victorious in a mile and six maiden at Ballinrobe on August 28.
Cooper also won on the mare in a two and a half mile maiden hurdle at Listowel in June.
