Miracles In May (15/2) has been trying for a long time to add to his two previous victories and managed to get his head back in front in the one-mile handicap.
Pushed along behind the leaders by Ben Coen early in the straight, he came through a gap approaching the final furlong and stayed on well to hit the front in the final 150 yards. He was ridden out to beat Take My Hand and Salt Whistle Bay by a length and a half and three parts of a length.
It was a first success since January 2020 for Frank McNulty's homebred.
"He's been in good form since the last day (third over 7f at Cork) and I'd say the step up to a mile suited,” said winning trainer Mark Cahill.
“It went well today and I think there is another race in Cork on Tuesday week. We might try and aim for that all going well.”
