Co Wexford trainer Colm Murphy saddled his Voler La Vedette to win The fairyhousecourse.ie Mares Flat Race at Fairyhouse this afternoon ridden by Mikey Fogarty.
The Kings Theatre filly was raced in behind the leaders, improved to challenge approaching straight, led over 1f out and kept on well to win by 7 lengths.
Colm Murphy said afterwards, "That was Mikeys [Fogarty] first winner on the track, I hope you'll hear a lot more of him in the future. We think a nice a bit of the horse, we were afraid of the ground and it's a lot to ask of a 4 year old filly. We'll go for a winners of one with her next. She'll have one run this side of Christmas and we'll put her away then."
