Mig Des Taillons a first for Turley Mig Des Taillons gave trainer Paddy Turley his first racecourse success when easily taking the spoils in the extended two mile handicap hurdle at Down Royal. The five-year-old gelding took over before three out when free-running leader Royal Royal was pulled up. The 11/8 favourite travelled well and asserted on the run-in to put his rivals away by four and a half lengths, with Declan Lavery in the saddle. Lusis Naturea took second at 5/1 by four and a quarter lengths from Ilikehim (8/1). Paddy Turley said: “I’ve had point-to-point winners, but it is great to get my first winner under rules. “He can be a keen sort, it is more a handbrake you need with him! But he settled lovely today. “He’ll be out again in a couple of weeks. “I’m from Downpatrick and we have the farm in the middle of the racecourse.”
