The judge was called into action again over two miles at Clonmel this evening when the Pat Fahy-trained Micras got up on the line to land the Knockanrawley Handicap. Talsara had travelled smoothly to dispute along with Micras two furlongs from home and the former looked set to collect after gaining the advantage a furlong out.
Micras battled back gamely, under Dylan Hogan, and was just in front by a nose at the death to score at 16/1.
The winner had previously scored over hurdles for connections at Thurles back in November 2015. She had also won on the Flat when in England.
"She ran at Down Royal and discovered she had a problem with allergies - lots of horses have it and we treated her. It was all about getting her confidence back,” said Fahy.
"She is handicapped over fences now and will more than likely go for a similar flat handicap next but she'll have a break first."
