Review WEXFORD 15TH JUN Barry Geraghty has made a bright start to the new National Hunt season, and the former champion brought his tally to eight winners when completing a near 44/1 treble aboard Moonridge, Izmir and Anjlore.Moonridge was well supported from 3/1 down to 9/4 favourite for the opening Bree Maiden Hurdle, and the four-year-old gave punters no worries when cruising to the front before the last to beat Colonel Brown by three lengths.'She tends to pull quite hard, and I told Barry to switch her off. He did a marvellous job', said trainer Ger O'Leary.Geraghty again had an easy time aboard Izmir in the Hilary Murphy Travel Novice Hurdle, although the 8/15 favourite had his task greatly eased when main market rival Risk Material refused to race. Edward O'Grady's charge was sent on after three out to beat Like-A-Rock by a facile three lengths, and is likely to go for another novice en route to the Galway Festival.Anjlore completed a good evening's work for Geraghty when prominent throughout, and rallying in the straight, to beat the flattering Shabob by a length in the J J Byrne Citroen Handicap Hurdle. 'She is in foal to Fourstars Allstar, gallops forever and loves a tight track', said trainer T J Nagle.Leading apprentice Colm O'Donoghue moved onto the ten winner mark for the season when Dizzy Tilly justified favouritism in the Courtown Handicap. The Tony Martin-trained mare quickened up nicely at the furlong pole to beat Mill Lane Flyer by two and a half lengths. alanmagee@ireland.com
