Jockey Ruby Walsh is just one winner from reaching 100 for the season following wins in the opening two races for Co Meath trainer Peter Casey before combining with Willie Mullins to complete a 23/1 treble.
Casey supplied Walsh with both winners of the maiden hurdles, Desert Island and Charlies First.
Desert Island ran out the three and a half length winner of the Thurles Racecourse Maiden Hurdle, having led from the third last, staying on well to hold Where's Eddie.
Afterwards Casey reported 'Desert Island will stay hurdling but may step up in trip.'
Half an hour later Casey was again in top form, following Charlies First's win in the Baby Beef Maiden Hurdle. According to Casey, a winners' of one hurdle is next on the agenda for Charlies First.
Ruby Walsh would be still good value riding with a penalty and rode his third winner on Mossy Green in the Cashel Fine Art Chase.
The winner's jumping had been in-and-out recently but never looked in danger today, stretching clear from the fifth last before easing to a 12 length win.
Wille Mullins later revealed 'I bought a new blood testing machine during the week and we tested Mossy Green this morning.'
'It said his blood was wrong but he was in excellent form and we decided to run him - I'll have to get a new screw-driver next!'
The feature event, the E62,000 Grade 3 Michael Purcell Memorial Novice Hurdle, was a fair contest and went to Charlie Swan's Teeming Rain.
JP McManus' gelding was held up by David Casey before making steady progress into a closing third at the third last flight.
Front running Sweet Kiln looked to have the race won before the last but was headed by the fast finishing winner, on the line.
Afterwards a surprised Swan reported 'I didn't give him much of a chance on that fast ground but it probably came as a shock to his system!'
He added 'we'll go for either the Fairyhouse or Punchestown Festivals now but he wont run on very fast ground. He'll make a fine chaser next year.'
Trainer Enda Bolger was pleased to see his Darby Wall win the beginners' chase, confirming his belief that his yard is in fine form ahead of Spot Thedifference's run in the Cross Country Chase at Cheltenham.
Winning jockey Andrew McNamara, who is currently without a ride at Cheltenham, had little difficulty steering the 11/8 favourite to an 8l success.
Mags Benefit landed the handicap hurdle under Eddie Power while the Walsh jockeys completed a good day with Katie (sister of Ruby) landing the bumper on Avoca Mist, completing a double for Willie Mullins.
