Review SLIGO 28TH JUN Pat Smullen moved into second place in the riders table with 32 winners (five off leader Fran Berry) when registering a near 34/1 double.After competing with the aid of cheek-pieces on his last three efforts, Whod Of Guest, now blinkered for the first time, shed his maiden tag at the tenth attempt in the opener.Smullen went to the front aboard Michael Halfords 4-y-o over 2 1/2f out and ultimately easily defeated the staying-on Wangara by 3 1/2L.The leading rider of 2000 and 2001 then teamed up with Arthur Moore for the Naas handlers first flat victory since the Ulster Cesarewitch in August 2003.Riding top-weighted Polly Anthus in the 1m 4f hcap, Smullen forced his mount (9/2 into 100/30 second fav) up close home to touch off Goose Island by a neck.Beaten favourite in the first, Orpen Sunshine (10th), is trained by Tony Mullins but the Gowran outfit were back in business half an hour later courtesy of Toccata Aria (claimed after for E10,500).Twice victorious when trained in Britain by Milton Bradley, Seamie Heffernan made all aboard the Irish-newcomer to hold off well-supported favourite, Torcello by a length.The jumping action saw Baltray Queen, the only previous hurdle winner in the line-up, lead at the last before going on to win the handicap for Harry Rogers and Ruby Walsh.The champion jockey went on to complete a 35/1 double with the Tom Mullins-trained top-weight, Valshan in the other handicap over half a mile further.Davy Russell and Tedeen survived a stumble after the third last flight to capture the maiden hurdle on the line for trainer Pat Fahy.
