Review LEOPARDSTOWN 2ND JUL

Miss Sally continued on a steep upward curve to land the feature Group 3 Brownstown Stakes at Leopardstown but Pat Smullen stole the show with a fabulous four-timer.

Miss Sally has shown tremendous improvement in the past few months. She began by landing a Navan maiden by ten lengths in April and followed up in an ultra-competitive Curragh handicap last weekend.

Michael Halford's filly still had a bit to find on ratings in this grade but could be called the winner quite a bit out. Fran Berry had to sit and suffer up the straight as he waited for gap.

He got the split inside the final furlong and his mount responded well to hit the lead close home and hold the challenge of Lock And Key by a neck.

The other six races were handicaps restricted to ten runners as part of the Mastercard Football Furlong Challenge and Pat Smullen dominated proceedings.

Smullen teamed up with wife Francis Crowley when producing Arcelie with a strong run in the final furlong to land the opening Matt Holland Handicap by half a length from Globalized.

Dermot Weld provided the other three successes. Moonlight Dance got the better of a good battle with Zarandja to land the Tote Ireland 75th Anniversary Handicap.

Number three came in the Irish International Proximity Handicap when Music Celebre kept on well in the closing stages to hold Nyasa by three-quarters-of-a-length.

Smullen wrapped up a fantastic night when giving Zeroberto a lovely ride in the concluding Star Sunday Handicap. He wasn't concerned when headed before the straight and regained the lead two furlongs out to comfortably hold Shaunas Vision by a length and a half.

High Priestess is on course for the Galway Hurdle after a narrow victory in the Braddish Builders Novice Hurdle at Limerick.

The Michael O'Brien-trained mare looked in trouble at the last, as Kylebeg Dancer had stretched the field. She found plenty on the run-in for Tom Ryan, however, to get up close home for a neck victory.

Jamie Moore and Sam Thomas both partnered their first winners on Irish soil as they visited Greenmount Park as part of the Walsh Western Jockey's Challenge.

Moore gave Lord Of The Artic a strong drive to land the Supermacs Handicap Hurdle while 20/1 shot Flower Drum was successful for Thomas in the Walsh Western Jockeys Challenge Handicap Hurdle.

Niall Madden, who was enjoying a great start to his pro career, suffered his second broken collar-bone of the year when Seagull Eile fell in the second race.
