It was a great night for the British raiders at Dundalk, and Watersmeet showed tenacity so typical of a Mark Johnston inmate in the Coral.ie Race.
Joe Fanning dictated terms to suit himself on the 10-11 favourite, but he was challenged and maybe even headed by Political Policy and Mandatario over a furlong out.
The grey really responded to Fanning's urgings, though, and fought hard to get back up by half a length from Political Policy.
Sir Mark Prescott is selective with the horses he brings to Dundalk but his record is excellent and Bear Faced enhanced it in the Big Bad Bob Race.
