Meade continues in top form Noel Meade has now trained four winners in succession as following on from a Galway hat-trick on Tuesday he struck again with Tiger Sam in the Ingoldsby Handicap Chase at Punchestown. Noel McParlan's mount was popular in the early betting for the three mile one furlong event, at double figure prices, and he eventually went off a 7/1 chance. The well-bred Beneficial gelding is also owned by the master of Tu Va Stables and here he reversed Ballinrobe form with Moss Grove, scoring by two and three parts of a length. "I thought he might win a race somewhere but I didn't think it would be at Punchestown," said Meade. "He gave him a great ride. The first time I ever met him was when he gave me the saddle. "There's an old farmer saying 'when you're in luck your pigs will thrive.' "We'll stay over three miles with him as you couldn't go far enough. He's a half-brother to Chief Dan George, who stays forever." (GC & EM)
