Trainer Ronan McNally on Thursday issued an update on Fairyhouse also ran, The Jam Man. The multiple winner had been expected to play a leading role in the Fairyhouse Summer BBQ Rated Race but was never competitive.

Speaking after stablemate All Class won at Limerick, the Armagh man said; ""The Jam Man was slightly disappointing last night but we know the reason why and we're putting a line through it.

"Danny (Gilligan) was really clever for a young lad and didn't beat him home.

"The saddle we put on was basically no saddle, and was sitting right on his wither. Once the jockey got up he started leaping and bucking because his wither was sore and it wasn't like him at all.

"His wither was fairly sore this morning and it was lucky Danny looked after him and he'll live to fight another day."

The nine-year-old, who has won 11 times in all, was sent off 9/2 for the race at the County Meath track but made no impression on easy winner Nibiru.
