Racing continues under the lights at Dundalk this evening where Ado McGuinness and Shane Crawley both have strong contenders on an eight-race card beginning at 4pm.
McGuinness was the leading trainer on the all-weather track in 2023 and appears to have found a good opportunity for Harry’s Bar to record a ninth course win in the Book Online @ DundalkStadium.com Race at 4.30.
Just four go to post in this six-furlong event, which has been won twice in the past by Harry's Bar and Tarsus looks the only possible threat to Cian MacRedmond’s mount.
The 5lb claimer also teams up with McGuinness aboard Hightimeyouwon in the View Restaurant At Dundalk Stadium Handicap (7.00).
The Garswood gelding won three times for the Lusk trainer last year and can gain further reward for some consistent efforts this winter.
Shane Crawley also has prospects of saddling a double on the evening with Trishuli River and Dreams Fled Away
Trishuli River has been in good form on the polytrack this winter winning over a mile in November and looks set to go off favourite over the same trip in division two of the Dundalkstadium.com Apprentice Handicap (6.30).
The daughter of Poet’s Word finished well from off the pace again over a mile last month and is fancied to reverse places with Rock Basher (second on that occasion) with Jamie Powell booked to ride.
Dreams Fled Away appeared to win with a bit in hand over 1m4f here last month and can follow up for the Tara-based trainer in the concluding Find Us On Facebook @dundalkstadium Handicap (7.30). Areana and Glyde Ranger second and third in that event, again reoppose but the five-year-old gelding is taken to defy a 7lb hike with Colin Keane an eye-catching booking. Inishmot Prince is another seeking a ninth course win on the card in the opening Dundalk Winter Series Leading Trainer & Jockey Championship Handicap.
Tom McCourt ’s charge is equally effective over five and six furlongs and has been in great form here this winter winning three times.
