Willie McCreery gained important first wins for two fillies today, when completing a cross-card double as in-foal One Boss scored on her first start for the trainer in Limerick's 10 Years Of Regeneron Science Handicap.

Held up off the pace in rear, the well-backed (12/1 - 6s) Saxon Warrior-filly arrived on the outer to lead inside the final furlong, thus also to completing a double for her jockey Declan McDonogh.

Trainer McCreery reported “she isn't long with me and worked well a couple of times on grass on Walsh's Hill. She is in foal to Bayside Boy and the whole thing was trying to get her to win.

“I was tempted by running her in the other fillies' race today with less runners but chanced this race, hoping for a nice draw. We ended up with a terrible drawn but all the horses are coming wide and Declan gave her a lot of confidence and gave her a lovely patient ride. That's all she wanted.”

Regarding his earlier Down Royal winner, the Curragh-based trainer added “Dream Ticket is a very well bred filly so it is also important to win with her. She is a half-sister to a Group 1 winner in France and the lads bought her at a very reasonable price as she was by a poor sire.”
