McCarthy & Brouder double up with another gamble Eoin McCarthy and Gearoid Brouder recorded a quick gambled on double at Limerick this afternoon when Moonlight Glory claimed the mares handicap hurdle. The Fame And Glory mare got in as first reserve in the two-mile contest and was well punted from 16/1 this morning into 9/2 at the off. Brouder produced her to lead before the second last. 7/2 favourite Paula's Prayer looked a danger before the final flight but Moonlight Glory found plenty in the closing stages to record a four-length success. The winner had finished fifth to She's Commanche on her most recent outing at Fairyhouse last month. “She is a lovely filly, is impeccably bred but was babyish and took time to come to hand. We made too much use of her in Fairyhouse the last day,” said McCarthy. "She was first reserve and I got a phone call at 7.45am so I was delighted.  "That's my first double and I neither had one riding or training before. We have 23 riding out and have never been as busy; we've always room for nice horses." (Quotes by Tom Weekes)
