The feature race on this evening's card at Limerick the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Handicap lost some of its glamour with the defection of Drombeg Dawn (unseated her jockey on the way to the start), Headford Lady and Glamorous, but that didn't bother connections of the winner Marvada who just got up to win on the line.
The Ken Condon trained winner was dead last over a furlong out but was pulled wide by her jockey Shane Foley and stormed home to lead on the line just getting the better of Stylish One (9/2) for Jim Bolger & Kevin Manning by a short head.
The daughter of Elusive City was having her fifth career start here having finished second on her first two runs of the year before winning last time out at Down Royal in a seven furlong maiden.
The 3yo winner opened this morning at 10/1 but was sent off the 4/1 second favourite as the stalls opened.
Winning trainer Ken Condon said afterwards: "Shane (Foley) gave her a great ride. She didn't quite come down the hill, but Shane left her find her feet and he gave her an excellent ride.
"I wasn't sure where she would slot in as a 3yo in her first handicap. She will go for a fillies handicap now on Derby weekend at the Curragh."
