Manieree had the perfect end to a "disastrous" year when claiming the Listed Garnet Stakes at Naas.
The Medicean filly made a late return to action this season after an injury earlier in the year and connections were left rueing what might have been.
She did the business in style today, however, when making all for a comprehensive victory.
Niall McCullagh had his rivals struggling early in the straight as the 4/7 favourite powered clear for a seven-length success. Shifting grabbed the second spot late on from Devotion 5/1 shot Loreto injured herself in the stalls and had to be withdrawn leading to a 15 cent deduction in winning bets.
"She's a very good filly. She had a serious accident in January. She loves soft ground and missed the whole year when it would have been right up her street," said Oxx of the winner afterwards.
"She could have got some blacktype in races like the Pretty Polly. It took her two races to get fit.
"We went to Paris when my horses were a little bit out of form and she went a little too fast as well. Niall said he'd take his time today.
"She came back to form today and won well. It's some compensation for a disastrous year.
"Her next outing will be the December sales at Newmarket. She's done well and is very genuine and very tough. She's a very good filly on soft ground."
