Borderlinedecision was the second winning father/son, jockey/trainer combination to win at Tramore today, landing the Guiry.ie Auctioneers Maiden Hurdle for Niall Madden senior and junior.
Jockey Niall ‘Slippers’ Madden moved the son of King’s Theatre to the front at the final flight and in the end the pair saw off the challenge of Creative Talent by a length and a quarter.
Trainer Niall ‘Boots’ Madden later stated “I thought he'd win at Kilbeggan but the trip of two mile three (furlongs) probably caught him out. It was messy race there and the two in front probably took each other on too early, and set it up for the winner.
“It's great that he came out today and won. I don't know where he'll go now."
