MARE TO MISS CHAMPION BID

Tony Martin has ruled out a tilt at the Smurfit Champion Hurdle for money-spinning She's Our Mare.

He reckons Cheltenham does not suit for the seven-year-old, who was conceding weight to first and second, Mantles Prince and Geos, when third in the Ladbroke Hurdle on Saturday.

The County Meath trainer is keener on a trip to Aintree for the mare, who landed the Swinton Hurdle and Cambridgeshire on her visits to Britain in 1999.

"She has come out of the race OK and she will have a little break now then we will find a race for her when the ground is better," Martin said.

"She definitely won't go to Cheltenham as it doesn't suit her - she is a speed mare and she might go to Liverpool.
