The Sky Bet Orby Stakes (Listed) went to the 12/1 chance Reve De Vol who got up close home to win by a head. Patrick Sarsfield (4/1) had travelled like a winner and led entering the final furlong but Colin Keane, completing a double for Ger Lyons after the 2-year-old Dr Zempf earlier, switched out from behind that one to get a clear run, before eventually collaring him in the final strides.
The son of Siyouni was the first runner, and first winner, that Lyons had trained for Moyglare Sud Farm when getting a Fairyhouse maiden in the stewards’ room last year.
Having run creditably in Group company afterwards, he was gelded over the winter and made a winning reappearance here.
Assistant trainer Shane Lyons said: “That was a very good performance. Colin said a very true run mile and two would be right up his street. There was a bit of cat and mouse there today.
“Colin was able to fill him and try to get a gap out. He hit the line hard and it’s a nice race to win.
“He’s bred to get a mile and a half but Colin said a true run mile and two would suit so if he keeps winning then we’ll keep him at that.”
