Lyons/Keane double up in King George V Cup Ger Lyons and Colin Keane, successful in the opening juvenile maiden with Convergence, completed a double on the evening at Leopardstown as Roheryn just held on in a thrilling finish to the King George V Cup. Keane elected to kick on entering the straight on the 17/2 (from 16’s) chance in this mile and a half Listed event, and the odds-on favourite Sinkal was soon in trouble. Streetcar To Stars took a while to get going on his seasonal reappearance but really picked up inside the final furlong and only failed by a nose to collect. Sinkal was a further five lengths adrift in third. John Constable (15/8) trailed in sixth of the seven and was found to be lame post-race. Lyons said, “That was the plan! Getting a black type win for a Galileo filly is fantastic. She’s obviously improving. “My daughter rides her out every day and that keeps her sweet. Colin was brilliant on her. He’s a good kid. “We’ll have to sit down and think about what we are going to do now.”
