Lynch back on the horse with a win for Potts' Jockey Andrew Lynch recorded a timely winner at Fairyhouse today when steering Sizing Codelco to win the E25 Punters Pack Maiden Hurdle for trainer Henry De Bromhead and owners Ann and Alan Potts. Lynch's career has been helped in no small part by his association with De Bromhead and the Potts' but was replaced on recent on Sunday's chase winner Grand Jesture, ridden instead by Davy Russell. Lynch, however bounced back from that in the best possible way, winning on the Potts' next runner, Sizing Codelco, which gave his supporters (well backed 4/6 favourite) few causes for concern when recording a comfortable two and a quarter lengths win over 100/1 shot Black Spot On. Afterwards De Bromhead stated “I'm delighted with that as he's always worked like a nice horse. “I thought it was a good run in the four-year-old maiden hurdle at Leopardstown over Christmas as there were so many bumper and Flat winners but he was bang amongst them. That was a nice introduction to give him a bit of confidence and we were hoping for improvement and he was good today. “He's still babyish and we'll look for a novice hurdle now and see where we go from there. He looks a good horse and a real chaser in the making; he could be exciting – hopefully.” By Thomas Weekes, quotes from Gary Carson
