The Eddie Lynam trained Balmont Mast came good on his tenth start when taking the Kells Maiden at Navan today under a well judged ride from Colm O’Donoghue.
O’Donoghue settled the son of Balmont behind the leaders before producing him to lead inside the final furlong, scoring a comfortable win at the line.
Afterwards a relieved Lynam said “what’s seldom is wonderful as I’ve been a while without a winner it’s nice to get off the cold list.
“People probably think Balmont Mast isn’t genuine but if you look back, a lot of his form has worked out well and he’s also had a bit of surgery done on his wind.”
