Jockey Colin Keane kept pace with championship leader Bill Lee at Clonmel today by matching his earlier winner, landing the featured Tipperary Cup Handicap on the Noel Meade trained Lunar Power
Lee's earlier win on Roman Bull moved him to 72 winners this season while Keane's success on Lunar Power was his 71st, as the gelding held runner-up Monas Melody by half a length.
Third-placed Harry's Legacy was a head further away, having raced detached in the rear in the early stages of the two-miles contest.
Meade wasn't present and afterwards three-times Champion Jockey Keane stated “he was very consistent on the Flat last year and signed off with a good performance at Leopardstown. He’s been very consistent over hurdles as well and is a very likeable horse.
“They fancied him a bit the last day but the ground went a bit too slow at Killarney.
“He likes long distances and all he does is stay and gallop.”
