Limerick Christmas festival scorers Low Lie The Fields and Itsnotinit filled the first two positions in the Ladbrokes Supporting Irish Racing Novice Handicap Hurdle at Punchestown.
Low Lie The Fields gained the day by three and a half lengths in the two and a half miler, but from some way out it looked like they might finish the other way around.
That was because Rachael Blackmore was asking for more from her mount from before three out. The seven-year-old found plenty for pressure though.
He’s owned by the Lonely Fields Syndicate and was bred by one of their number, Aidan Madden, and that grouping are being rewarded for their patience with the son of Gold Well.
“We're delighted with that and delighted for the lads who own him, Aidan Madden and his crew,” said winning trainer Henry de Bromhead.
“He seems to be improving the whole time which is great. He won nicely in Limerick and it's great to back it up here.
“I thought we were struggling turning in but he stayed at it really well.
“Whatever he does this year hopefully he can do even better over fences next year, he jumps really well.”
