Loughran and Hughes take opener at Down Royal

The opening race this afternoon at Down Royal, The Albert Bartlett & Sons Maiden Hurdle was won by the Dessie Hughes trained Sarteano ridden by Roger Loughran and owned by the More Busted Sofa's Syndicate.

Loughran was always prominent on the grey gelding, ridden and under pressure from 3 out, led just before 2 out and stayed on well under a strong drive by the jockey to win by 3 ? lengths.
