Lots Of Memories kept up the gallop in the Grade 3 novice hurdle in Cork to come in well clear with Shane Butler in the saddle.
Paul Fahey’s six-year-old gelding, who has never been out of the first three in 10 outings now, moved to the head of proceedings after jumping the seventh. He was clear at the fourth last and despite weaving around before the third and second last scooted in by 10 lengths at 7/4.
He was obviously well fancied having been 9/2 this morning even taking into account Somethingwonderful being taken out of the race after being declared in error. Horendus Hulabaloo took second at 16/1. The 13/8 favourite Indevan fell three out when beaten.
Jockey Shane Butler said: “Paul (Fahey) is away in America. We walked early on and I said I’d take a lead on the first lap. Then I went on and he stretched them and had a good look at the last three.
“He’s still very green, but he could be very good and anything he does over hurdles will be a bonus. He goes on any ground as long as its not too hard.
I was very impressed with him today. I let him roll along after a lap and I let him gallop. He’s still very novicey but once he gets to grips with it he’ll be very good. He was still very green over the last three.”
