The bigger-priced of two Ballydoyle contenders, Madonnadelrosario (16/1) made a winning handicap debut in the DMG Media Nursery.
Stablemate Howth beat only one home, but the victorious daughter of Caravaggio was always prominent under Wayne Lordan and got the better of a good tussle with Malayan in the final furlong to score by half a length.
The half-sister to Prix Morny winner The Wow Signal gave winning trainer Aidan O’Brien a double on the card after Bluegrass took the opener.
“She ran in three nice maidens and ran well,” said Lordan.
“Today was her second time wearing blinkers and I think the straight track suited her.
"I got it easy up front and was able to go from halfway. She stuck at it well and had to be tough to win.
"It’s important with her pedigree to get that win and she can continue to progress.”
