Wayne Lordan completed a notable day's work for his boss Aidan O'Brien today as the dual-Classic winner landed the Group 3 Irish Stallion Farms EBF Stanerra Stakes at Leopardstown to the earlier Group 2 July Stakes at Newmarket, for the Champion Trainer.
Lordan won the 2.25pm July Stakes with O'Brien's short-head winner Royal Lytham, which benefitted from a waiting ride, before hotfooting from Newmarket to ride in the opening 5.50pm race at Leopardstown, in which he was unplaced.
Two hours later, and still in Dublin, Lordan doubled his score when steering Galileo-sired Peach Tree to a half length win over Moteo
Afterwards the jockey reported “she’s (Peach Tree) a grand filly and has been competing at a high level. She ran well in a Group 3 in Cork, and back in that grade going that trip she travelled smooth and got to the line well.”
Champion Trainer O'Brien was completing a personal hat-trick of wins on the day having also won the opening maiden with Love ridden by Donnacha O'Brien.
