Colin Keane completed a double at Dundalk today as the recent Longines International Jockeys' Championship runner-up completed the feat in the opening division of the www.dundalkstadium.com Handicap on the Johnny Levins trained Dark Magic

The son of Invincible Spirit's only previous win was for previous trainer Dean Ivory at Newmarket in July 2017 and having been bought by connections for GBP6,000 last July, today scored a head win over Red Avenger on his sixth Irish start.

Keane's win on Flying Quest in the third leg of the Longines International Jockeys' Championship on December 3 helped the jockey to a second place finish in Hong Kong's prestigious series and today was completing his double on Dark Magic, having earlier steered the Tony Martin trained The Mouse Doctor to win.

Following his second win, Keane said “he was a bit unlucky the last day when he was drawn bad and I probably should have taken my time on him. He’d a nice draw today and he duly obliged.

“He’s fairly genuine and the way the race set up they went good and hard and he had something to aim at. It’s hard with the cross wind and the rain.”
