Seanie Levey's mount, Liszt had the experience of a run under his belt and he ended up the leading Ballydoyle hope in the market for the opener, as the newcomer, Moon Indigo under Seamie Heffernan, drifted out to four to one.
As it transpired money arrived for the Jim Bolger-trained Fergus Mciver (6s in the morning into 3/1 favourite). However he couldn't get to grips with the Levey partnered, Liszt, who made all, and despite wandering a little, stayed on best to prevail by two lengths over the 'jolly,' with Dazzle Dancer a further length and a half back in third. Moon Indigo could only manage sixth.
