Limerick Selected for Carefully jumps debut Willie Mullins has chosen the Hospitality Packages Limerick Maiden Hurdle for Cheltenham Bumper runner-up Carefully Selected’s long-awaited jumps debut. The seven-year-old, last seen finishing third in last season’s Champion Bumper at the Punchestown Festival, reappears on Sunday following a 326-day absence. Mullins is sure to have him readied for his comeback run, and Carefully Selected may be able to get the better of race-fit and capable rival Captain Cj. On a card headlined by a Graded race each over hurdles and fences, the undercard action gets under way with the Limerick On Facebook Rated Novice Hurdle — in which Halsafari, out of top race mare Solerina, may prove best for Michael Bowe. Halsafari’s initial form this season was disappointing, but he is improving in recent times and bumped into Eight And Bob at Fairyhouse last month. He has been raised 3lb for that run but could well continue to improve — with Lady Writer, seeking a hat-trick but dropping down in trip, his chief danger. The Andrew McNamara-trained Epsilon Indi may be able to take another step forward in the Follow Limerick On Twitter Handicap Hurdle after two recent placed efforts.
