The Joseph O’Brien-trained Light Up The Dark ran out a cosy winner of the concluding four-year-old bumper as heavy snowfall pelted down at Naas during the finale this afternoon.

John Gleeson produced the Camelot filly to lead a furlong-and-a-half from home and she asserted in the closing stages, easing down late on to score by seven lengths from Scarriff Bridge

The winner was sent off 2/1 favourite. She cost £95,000 as a yearling and is a half-sister to two winners on the Flat.

Gleeson said:- “It was a nice performance. Obviously it was very tough conditions but she did it very well.

“They are only four-year-olds and it’s early days for them, but you would have to be very pleased with her.”
