Ger Lyons saddled his first winner for Sheikh Mohammed when Printmaker took a competitive Crowne Plaza Dundalk Race & Stay Package Handicap in the hands of Johnny Murtagh.
The Lyons/Murtagh combination were out of luck with a few fancied runners earlier in the evening but this Shamardal gelding put things right when justifying good support.
Available at 8/1 this morning with Boylesports and Paddy Power, he was further backed on track from 9/2 down to 100/30 second favourite.
The extended ten furlong event was wide open a furlong out with five of the six runners in a line across the track. But Printmaker found most under pressure in the closing stages to beat Red Shaheen (6/1) by half a length, with 2/1 favourite Sikara another length back in third.
Ger Lyons said: “That's huge for the yard, and its great to be training for a man like Sheikh Mohammed. This is a genuine three-year-old, and all my horses have been needing a run after a long, hard winter. He's a nicely handicapped horse and its onwards and upwards with him.”
