Lan Cinnte appreciates good drop of rain in Limerick Jessica Harrington's Lan Cinnte, the 4/5 favourite, showed her resolution to win the mile maiden on Limerick's card. She challenged the leader Dutch Gold approaching the final furlong and put her head down to get the measure of that rival inside the final furlong. She ground it out from there for Colin Keane to hold a staying-on Livio Milo (10/3) by a length and three-quarters. Dutch Gold (9/2) dropped a neck back to third. Assistant trainer Kate Harrington said: “She was a consistent filly last season, and just didn’t get her head in front, but it was a very good return at Naas. We waited for the good ground, and I was a bit concerned about the good-to-firm, but Denis (Brosnan, owner) put his foot down this morning and said we’ll run her.  "We were happy the rain fell when it did, she’s a nice filly, and it’s great to get that maiden bracket now. She’s got an entry for the fillies’ handicap over Derby weekend, and that’s where she’ll go. “She’s a lovely filly, and we’ll go one step at a time, and I’d imagine towards the end of the season she’ll work up into a Listed filly or get a bit of black type. She’s a big girl and I think she’ll keep on improving through the year.” Additional reporting by Tom Weekes
