Lakemilan takes bumper in style Lakemilan bounced back to form to open her account in some style in the concluding mares bumper at Listowel this afternoon. The daughter of Milan had run well when third at Killarney on her 'track' debut in July but proved disappointing at Tramore last month. Terence O'Brien's charge attracted support today from 25/1 in the morning and went to post a 10/1 shot. That support was fully justified as she hit the front entering the straight, under Johnny Barry, and kicked clear over a furlong from home. Even-money favourite Trans Highway gave chase in the closing stages but could only get within six lengths of the clear winner. "She wasn't beaten far in a bumper at Killarney where the winner and fourth went on to win since. Johnny said she travelled well today and had plenty left when he asked her,” said O'Brien. "I got her from the owner (Denis Wilson) a couple of months ago - I had never met the man but he asked me to train her and I've loved her from day one. She might have a break now."
