Lady Derrynane swooped on the outer to claim the mile handicap on her seasonal reappearance at Cork.
Tom Madden held his mount up towards the rear in the early stages before making ground up going to the two furlong pole.
The Jessica Harrington-trained filly stayed on to dispute passing the furlong marker and got on top in the closing stages to beat Remember The Days by a length-and-a-quarter.
The 7/1 winner had been placed in a nursery when last seen at Leopardstown in October. She had also been runner-up in a Tipperary maiden as a two-yeaar-old.
Owner Kate Harrington said afterwards:- "She wintered well and had been dropped 3lbs over the winter while Tom (Madden) also claimed 5lbs.
"It's great for Tom to have a winner - he's in the yard every day and I'm delighted for him.
"She'll appreciate any ground and myself and mum will have a chat and see where we go from here - she is for sale though."
