Kilkishen forged on well at the end of three miles one furlong to take the Introducing Racing TV Handicap Chase in Fairyhouse.
He relished every yard of this staying test as he was prominent throughout and thundered away from the opposition after the last to score by seven lengths at 17/2 with Danny Mullins in the saddle. Se Mo Laoch the 9/2 favourite, finished second with Cresus De Grissay third at 6/1.
Trainer Shark Hanlon said: “All he does is stay. We had a plan done before today and we’re not changing from it — we are going to go for the Eider Chase at Newcastle (on February 23).
“He wants a trip. His jumping let him down up to now and today he was very good. Win or lose, as long as his jumping was good today I’d be happy.
“I’d say you won’t see him again until then (Newcastle). He always finds a lazy spot during his races but he didn’t find one today.”
