Kilganer Queen landed a few bets in Limerick as she relished the task set in the three mile handicap hurdle.
She led Aunt Alice (11/2) into the straight and the race looked to be between the pair.
Rachael Blackmore 's mount had plenty in the tank though, as she powered away from the last to win by three and three quarter lengths.
She was returned the 9/2 joint favourite backed in from 11/2. In morning trading she was 16/1, however, there were five non runners reducing the field to 11. Mister First (14/1) picked up third-placed prize money but he was 10 lengths behind the runner-up.
Trainer Denise O'Shea said: "She is a lovely mare and we bought her after she won her point-to-point in Kilfeacle and was always a nice, nice mare.
"Donie McInerney rode her the last day and gave her a lovely ride and I'm very lucky to have Rachael (Blackmore) on my horses.
"We'll see what the handicapper does but she'll turn out soon enough and won't spend too much time over hurdles as she is a natural chaser."
