Kearney on the mark again aboard Maid To Shine Maid To Shine defied a lowly rating of 57 when taking the View Restaurant At Dundalk Stadium Maiden and landed some nice bets into the bargain. The Paddy Hassett-trained daughter of Dandy Man was available at 33/1 overnight but was backed down at all prices throughout the day going off at 10/1. Jack Kearney has been seen to great effect here over the past few months and partnered his seventh winner of 2023 switching right under two furlongs out and his mount kept on strongly inside the final 150 yards to score by a length and a quarter. Relevant Range filled the runner-up spot for the third successive time, with 5/4 favourite Lauroline three quarters of a length further back in third. Kearney said, "It was nice to do it. It was a competitive maiden and there was a lot of hot form in it. "It took her a while to get going but when she got going, she picked up nicely, we got a split and she hit the line good and strong. "She's a cracking big filly. I'd say it just took that bit of time to get her head right and to know what she is doing. "The step up in trip I think helped her, she got in a rhythm and could do things at her own pace. She travelled into it nicely. She's as genuine as you get and galloped out to the line. "Thanks to everyone for the opportunities and things are going great this year. I can't wait to hopefully get going on the grass." Quotes by Michael Graham
