Well-backed Beauparc (morning 7/2, returned 10/11f) successfully stepped up in trip at Dundalk today, landing the concluding View Restaurant Summer Offer Just 29 Euro Handicap for father and son, trainer and jockey Gerry and Colin Keane.

The five-year-old daughter of Free Eagle was a fast-finishing short-head loser on her previous start in December and today scored readily from runner-up Darkened

Keane senior stated "she was flying the last day and in another stride would have been up, so we thought she would probably get 1m4f. I thought she might be better than the others today although somebody else was thinking the same!

“It is great to see her getting it, she's a nice size of filly and might eventually jump a hurdle.

“Initially we were actually afraid to even go 1m2f with her: she had won over 1m1f but then the first night Colin rode her, she looked like she didn't stay but I think she just needed the run.”

He added "I was a bit worried with 10 stone on her back, but if a six-time champion jockey is not worth 7lb around here, he is not worth using!"
