Straight Answer quickened away smartly to make a winning debut for Ger Lyons in the DMG Media Maiden, giving Colin Keane a quick double at the Curragh this afternoon.
The Juddmonte-owned son of Kodiac was prominent early before Keane settled him behind the leaders and switched out to the middle of the track.
He asked his mount to hit the lead two furlongs from home and the 15/8 favourite soon put the race to bed.
Straight Answer galloped on strongly in the closing stages to post a length-and-a-quarter success over Rhea Moon
The trainer's brother and assistant Shane Lyons said:- “We always liked him. He's a big horse and it's all about next year with him. This is a bonus.
“When we got him we were thinking the back end of the year but he's always shown us something. He has a big stride on him and he'll prefer better ground than that.
“He did that on his own, it was a genuine performance and he'll improve from it. He was doing what we've seen at home.
“He was very relaxed today, took it all in. We'll get him home and make a plan now.”
