Jockey Colin Keane completed a double at Fairyhouse today when steering newcomer Brooklyn’s Rose to win the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Auction Fillies Maiden for his employer Ger Lyons.
The daughter of Holy Roman Emperor was well supported on-track from 7/1 in to 4/1 but then missed the break. However Keane gradually worked his way into contention on the winner who improved to lead in the closing stages for a length win over Giselle’s Charm.
Afterwards Lyons stated “I like to introduce them here over a short trip and she didn't mind the ground and will step up another furlong.
“I liked her attitude and the penny dropped near the end. It was all about the next day, the way he rode her, and when she missed the kick (from stalls) I thought that was it. He's (Keane) riding great and is a great asset to us.
"Declan (Landy) is a lucky owner, and fingers crossed the future looks bright.
"Hopefully she will go for a winners race next, and we'll take it from there."
Keane was earlier successful on Bainne in the opening Claimer.
