Keane completes Dundalk double for owner/breeder Colin Keane completed a double at Dundalk today as the former Champion Jockey steered Trish's Company to a surprise 25/1 win in the Connolly Kelly Accountants (Fillies) Maiden for owner/breeder Michael Smith and trainer Michael O'Callaghan. The daughter of Fast Company is out of the Smith owned Mooretown Lady, a Group 3 placed and maiden winner for trainer Harry Rogers in 2007/08 and today got off the mark at the third attempt when arriving late to edge past Royal Highness close home and score a neck win. Trainer O'Callaghan later said “she won like a nice filly and is still plenty green, she had an awkward head carriage there. “Colin said she still feels like one that the penny is only dropping with. “She had a lovely first run and then she got lost in Leopardstown in bottomless ground. We were a little disappointed but just decided to put a line through it. “I wasn't sure whether she'd handle this surface or not. She's been a filly that's taken a bit of time and I'm delighted for the owner/breeder Michael Smith. “He puts a lot into the game and has horses with several different lads. He's over the moon because Mooretown Lady was a good filly for him and it's the first winner she's bred. “Hopefully she can do a bit more for him now in the spring. She'll probably be put away now.” Quotes from Gary Carson
