Call Of The Jungle gained a deserved success when opening her account in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden at the Curragh.

Willie McCreery 's charge had been placed on five previous occasions and was delivered with a well-timed run by Nathan Crosse this afternoon in the five furlong contest.

The Bungle Inthejungle filly swooped inside the final furlong to grab King Of Stars and record a three-parts-of-a-length win at odds of 13/2.

“It's great to get her a win. She's a tough hardy little filly,” said McCreery.

“I thought Nathan was very good on her today as they went very hard and he didn't panic on her. He was good and strong in the finish and she stayed out the last 100 yards very well.

“I'm delighted to win for Patrick and Anne-Marie Burns, they bred her themself. Rathasker sponsored the last race and she's by one of their stallions so it's all good.

“When you get put up 5lb for being second you have to go back for a maiden.”
