January Jets opened his 'track' account with the minimum of fuss in the Kenny Developments Maiden Hurdle at Galway.
The Presenting gelding was making his first start for Henry de Bromhead this afternoon having been placed twice for Jessica Harrington last season and went off a solid 8/11 favourite.
Robbie Power won the early battle for the lead on the hotpot going to the second flight and had his rivals at work jumping the penultimate hurdle in the two-miler.

January Jets, running the colours of Robcour, has cost €115,000 after winning his point-to-point at Ballysteen back in April 2019.
Power said afterwards:- "He is a horse we always liked an awful lot. Things didn't work out for him last season but he ran very well in two good maidens in the winter and coming into a summer maiden he was entitled to do that.
"He is a fine big horse and 2m4f will probably be his ideal trip."
