Jeroboam seals across-the-card treble for O'Brien Jeroboam was an all-the-way winner of the six furlong for three-year-old plus in the Curragh. He was very easy to back in drifting out from 11/10 to 2/1 but broke well and soon took a narrow lead from the 7/4 favourite Punakha. Jeroboam asserted a furlong and a half out and was soon ridden to go and win his race by Seamie Heffernan. He kept up the gallop to close it out by a length and three quarters. Carlton Banks put in good late work to get up for second at 22/1. Punakha dropped half a length further back to third. This gave Heffernan and Aidan O'Brien a double on the card after Luxembourg impressed in the Group 2 Beresford Stakes. O'Brien had an across-the-card treble as Tenebrism took the Group One Cheveley Park under Ryan Moore. Heffernan said: “He always showed a lot more than he was running, but maybe he was a little bit weak. He won well today. “He has plenty of pace and plenty of ability. Maybe he’s starting to strengthen up and get it together.” Additional reporting by Alan Magee
