Formerly with the 'Shark' Hanlon and Willie Mullins, Three Monkeys finally gained a winning bracket when supplying Philip Rothwell with a welcome winner in the opening Graun Hill Mares Maiden Hurdle at Tramore.
The 20/1 Mr Combustible mare made all under Shane Jackson and she had what was required at the finish to hold off Coolharbour Breeze and Fairly Definite by three lengths and two lengths. The well-backed favourite Asiya (5/2 this morning into 11/8) could manage only fifth.
Rothwell said: "It was a great opportunistic ride out of Shane. I'd give him more credit than the horse or myself. He slipped the field. She is just an average filly and she'll go handicapping now.
"It is wonderful to get a win over hurdles with her."
Emmet Mullins, who got a fall from Riltree at the first here, was stood down for the remainder of the day.
